New Year’s Day Highland Gathering

Join us for the Highland Gathering on January 1st at Maryborough Highland Society. It’s a full day of entertainment, culture, and community spirit that kicks off the new year in spectacular fashion. This year’s event is extra special as we celebrate 50 Years of the Girl on the Drum!

The festivities begin with the 11am “Harold Hubble” Street Parade, a beloved tradition that brings the community together. Watch as the parade winds through the streets, featuring colourful displays and local groups celebrating this milestone anniversary.

Entertainment Throughout the Day

Experience authentic Highland Dancing and enjoy performances from talented Pipe Bands. The VAL Athletic Carnival takes centre stage with the Max Martin Men’s Gift and Glenn Hooper Ladies Gift competitions, showcasing local athletic talent and competitive spirit.

Families will love the carnival rides, perfect for kids of all ages. When hunger strikes, explore the variety of food trucks offering delicious options to suit every taste. There’s something for everyone throughout the day.

Evening Concert and Fireworks

As the sun sets, settle in for an evening concert followed by a spectacular fireworks display to light up the night sky. It’s the perfect way to close out an unforgettable day of celebration and mark the beginning of a new year.

Entry is affordable for the whole family – adults $18, seniors $10, and under 16s get in free. Bring your family and friends for a day packed with tradition, entertainment, and community connection.
