Community Groups Raise $2050 at New Year’s Day Fireworks
A massive thank you goes out to five incredible local organisations who volunteered their time on New Year’s Day to make our fireworks display a success. The Maryborough Brass Band, Toy Library, Angling Club, Pipe Band and Fire Brigade all stepped up to man the gates, collecting gold coin donations from attendees throughout the evening.
Thanks to the generosity of our community and the hard work of these dedicated volunteers, a fantastic $2050 was raised and distributed among the five deserving groups. The oversized cheque – made out to the Highland Gathering Gold Coin Donation for the sum of Two Thousand and Fifty Dollars – was presented on behalf of the Maryborough Highland Society.
It’s a wonderful example of our community coming together. These groups give so much to Maryborough throughout the year, and we’re thrilled that our New Year’s Day fireworks event was able to give something back to them. Congratulations to all involved, and a heartfelt thank you to every person who contributed a gold coin on the night.
